A different type of movie this time, and what made the biggest difference for me was how I got everything that happened straight away. Not neccesarily the best choice if you want to think with the movie, but just the thing for more simple minded people. And small children, too. Throughout the film, it was clear what was going on, and inthat sense, you were on top of things all the time. It was also clear that the movie followed the typical pattern in kids' animations, especially with the emotional ups and downs and how you could see what was comming the moment the bad guy was introduced. Add in how the main characters make moral decisions and learn something about themselves, and its a well-rounded childrens story.
What has to be commented on is the graphics of the film. As far as I remember - and I'm not that old - thesethings weren't as good back in the day. So technology shows in the film industry as well. The effect is that the movie is easier to watch - there is no need, or drive, to pay attention a whole bunch of animation details gone wrong.
Overall, good for a change, especially to the war movies and mind-puzzles we've seen lately. It gives some wider perspective. The bottom line is, though, that Disneys are not neccessarily the best thing in my opinion. Awesome for a change and nice if you want to be on top of things, but something you might get bored of pretty fast. More complex films might be the better choice on the long run, as long as being continuously confused is not such a big problem...
I must say I really liked this movie. What really surprised me was the fact that it was quite touching (I spent most of the movie in tears.) Moreover, it was surprisingly deep and clearly reached to people of all ages, not just children. I think this is a great example of a movie, which might not seem to have that much artistic value at first sight, but in reality is a very eye-opening experience. From: Niina Kari
I was surprised that the film was a bit sadder and scarier than I would've thought that it would be, for kids of that age. :D
But generally, I liked the movie. It certainly was something different that we've been used to in POPMCC, and I think it was just a positive change. Nothing else to say, really. :o
It was a so-called family movie. I personally am not really attracted to animated films, but this one was nice.
There's nothing that deep about it since its not directed to a specific audience. It followed a classic children's cartoon film pattern, which pretty much describes it in my opinion.
I don't see a reason to comment on its suitability for children. It was ok regarding this matter.
The main audience is kids aged, I don’t know, from 5-10 and you can see that. There was nothing you really couldn’t guess to happen. If I would be a parent watching a movie with kids, I would enjoy my time. Yes, but as I have not kids I also have no interests on watching this movie again. It was easy to watch, nice animation, suits the audience, and good in all and all.
If you keep searching you can find many levels in this movie. Children see the excitement, the balloons, and the general adventure. Slightly older viewers might start thinking their own choices and thing they have done and or in the other hand left unfinished.
Not bad, nice change and especially easy to watch.
